During Anti-Bullying Week, P6/7 looked at a range of bullying scenarios. We selected a scenario and worked with a partner to generate and classify questions according to De Bono. Questioning what we read is an important comprehension strategy as it enables us to consider how characters feel and have empathy towards them. Questioning ensures we consider the risks and dangers; the positives and happy ever after and also the who, what, where, when and why? Effective questioning deepens our understanding and comprehension of a text.
Next, we enjoyed some role play of bullying situations and considered various scenarios of being respectful and kind and also making bad decisions and displaying bullying behaviour.
