As the Principal of St Brigid’s Primary School, I extend to you a very warm welcome to our website. Through this we aim to give you a flavour of some of the school events, visitors and experiences offered to our children.
St Brigid’s is a Catholic maintained, co-educational primary school, where the children are at the heart of every decision we make and everything we do. We value the great relationships that we have formed with our parents and acknowledge the dedicated work and commitment of the Staff, Governors and Parents Association.
We enjoy a warm, welcoming, inclusive atmosphere and it is this distinctive ethos which enables the children to flourish and succeed giving them the skills, attitudes and desire to achieve their full potential.
I hope that you find our website informative and interesting and gain some insight into how we fulfil our school motto: 'Learning and Growing Together'. If you would like to see our school and experience our ethos I would be delighted to meet with you.
Thank you for visiting our website.
Kind regards
Dolores Miller

📝 A Poem to our Teachers 📝
Written by Primary 7 Class of 2026
We walked into P7, a bit of a crowd,
Admit it, dear teachers, we were far too loud!
We lost all your glue sticks and used your nice pens,
But we made the best memories with all of our friends.
We remember the times you would look at the clock,
Or when our loud chattering gave you a shock.
Mrs Devlin would say, “Theon, Theon,” repeatedly with a smile,
And tolerate all of our antics for a while.
She’d tell us of Cathal, her pride and joy,
And sip her cold Diet Coke, watching all the boys.
While over in class, looking lively and bright,
Mrs McConville kept a coffee in sight.
She taught us with Jumpstart and called us her “wains,”
With that sweet Derry accent that eased all our pains.
She’d chat about Cormac and Kate with such pride,
With a warm, patient smile she just couldn't hide.
Then in stepped Mr McVeigh with a tune,
His guitar in his hand, brightening the room.
He’d wander around as he strummed a sweet chord,
Saying, “I believe in you,” and we never got bored.
Of course, we can't forget trips out of bounds,
And the yearly mishaps on residential grounds!
With staff bumps and bruises, they surely made clear,
That a minor disaster happened each year.
The days flew by, the year is now done,
Looking back, we’ve had so much fun.
From the very first morning in September,
You’ve given us moments we’ll always remember.
Now high school is calling, we’re ready to grow,
But we’ll miss you much more than you’ll ever know.
Thank you for being the best guides and friends,
From your favorite P7s, right to the end!
Our wonderful P7s shared this beautiful poem at their leavers assembly yesterday.
🌞 EY1 End of Year Celebration & Nursery Graduation 🎓💛
What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of another fantastic school year! We were delighted to welcome parents and grandparents to join us for a special outdoor play session as we celebrated our EY1 children and congratulated our nursery graduates.
Our outdoor areas were full of excitement, with children enjoying climbing in our banks area, splashing in the water play, creating in the sand, and digging to their hearts’ content. It was a joy to see so many families sharing in the fun and making special memories together.
