🌍 Eco Action at St Brigid's! 🌱

We’re thrilled to introduce our Eco-Council – a team of passionate Eco-Warriors who will be working alongside Miss White to make sure our school community appreciates the natural world and acts responsibly towards the environment. 😁

This year, we’ve elected a brand-new team who will meet every month to share ideas and plan exciting projects that make our school more eco-friendly. Their mission is clear:
✅ Promote Reduce, Reuse, Recycle across the school
✅ Organise litter picks in our local area (including a recent one with support from McDonald’s!)
✅ Take part in Eco workshops to learn and lead
✅ Educate classmates about horticulture, saving electricity, and caring for our planet and the benefits of active travel 

Our Eco-Council is committed to making a real difference, and we can’t wait to share their progress with you throughout the year. Keep an eye out for updates and photos of their amazing work! 🌿

🚶‍♀️ Active Travel – Let’s Get Moving! 🚴

This year, we’re putting a big spotlight on Active Travel! We want to encourage pupils and families to walk, cycle, or scoot to school whenever possible. Working in partnership with Sustrans, we aim to:
🌱 Reduce traffic congestion around our school
🌱 Improve air quality for everyone
🌱 Boost health and wellbeing for pupils and families

Our Walking Bus initiative has already been a huge success, with lots of pupils and parents joining in for a fun, healthy start to the day. We’ll be running more Walking Bus events throughout the year, so watch this space for dates!

We’re also exploring plans for a new cycle parking facility to make active journeys even easier. By choosing Active Travel, we’re helping to create a safer, healthier, and happier community for all. 💚
